Who we are
Slipless is run by Slipless Limited, registered in Scotland (company number SC906984), 11 Appleton Drive, Livingston EH54 6FP. We are the data controller for the account and contact details described below. Our registration with the Information Commissioner’s Office has been submitted. Contact us at info@slipless.co.uk.
For the parts, invoices, returns and estimates a business records in Slipless, that business is the controller and we process the data on its behalf.
What we collect
- Account details: name and work email of people who sign in.
- Business details: business name, address, suppliers and settings.
- Supplier branch contacts: branch names and returns email addresses a business adds.
- Returns records: invoice numbers, part numbers, descriptions, values, credit notes and photos of invoices.
- Collection records: the name a driver enters when confirming a collection, and the time.
- Estimates: the garage's customer's name, mobile number and email, the vehicle registration, make and mileage, the work and prices, photos the garage takes of the vehicle, parts quotes from suppliers, and the customer's answer (approve or decline, the name they enter, any note and the time).
- Register interest form: name, email, business, type of business and any message you send.
- Basic technical data needed to keep you signed in and the service secure.
Why we use it
- To provide the service: logging returns, writing return notes, recording collections and matching credits.
- To build estimates, show a customer their estimate through a private link, record their answer, and help the garage order the parts.
- To send sign-in links and, where switched on, return notes to supplier branches.
- To reply to people who register interest on our website.
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
Our lawful basis is performing our contract with the business that uses Slipless, and our legitimate interest in running a secure service. We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We use trusted providers to run Slipless:
- Supabase: database and sign-in.
- Vercel: hosting.
- Anthropic: reading the part lines from invoice, credit note and parts quote photos when you scan one.
- Resend: sending emails.
- Xero: only if a business connects it. We read its supplier credit notes and bills to match them to returns, and allocate a credit only when someone in the business asks us to.
A supplier branch sees only the returns, notes and collections for that supplier, never a business's other suppliers, prices or accounts. Some providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, they use UK-approved safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
If a garage sent you an estimate
The garage that sent you the link is responsible for your details, and Slipless processes them on the garage's behalf. We use them only to show you the estimate and record your answer. We never use them for marketing or share them with anyone else. Your link is private: anyone with it can see that estimate, so please don't forward it. Data is stored in the EU (Ireland). How long we keep it
We keep data while the business's account is open. If an account is closed, we delete its data within 90 days unless the law requires us to keep it longer.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it, by emailing info@slipless.co.uk. If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
